The Dhaka Elevated Expressway is Bangladesh’s first elevated expressway project and one of the largest infrastructure projects to be implemented in Bangladesh to date. It will connect Dhaka’s international airport with Kutubkhali (the Dhaka-Chittagong highway) via Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Kamalapur, Saidabad and Jatrabari of Dhaka and is expected to ease the incapacitating traffic congestion in the capital city. The total length of the expressway (including ramps) shall be approximately 46.73 Km.

The expressway is a public private partnership project being implemented by Italian-Thai Development Public Co., Ltd. (ITD), a major listed construction firm on the Thai stock exchange, on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis with the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (Bridges Division, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges) as the executing agency.
